I measure my life in sounds. All of my favorite memories, milestones, and most important moments are dog-eared by songs and albums. I love music in my bones. However, there’s one thing I love most– more than listening to music, more than performing music, and more than going to live shows– more than any of those things combined, I love to talk to people about music.

I love to share the little details I’ve unearthed in one of my favorite songs. I love to untangle the lyrics and delicately put them back together again, just so I can understand what my favorite artist is telling me. I love using my music degrees to take songs apart, piece by piece, pointing out the hidden bass lines that dance behind the melody, the sparkling vocal lines that stack, perfectly entwined right on top of one another, and the vulnerable echos of an acoustic guitar, or the longing that a saxophone can bring to a song. I love all of those things and I also love you.

I love hearing you talk about your favorite artists and the songs that mean the most to you. I love watching your faces light up as you tell me about a special memory that’s colored by your favorite album. I love seeing you get dressed up for concerts and god- I love seeing you love music.

I think right now, that’s what’s at the heart of this slice of the internet. I just want to love music. I want to love all facets of it. The fashion, the writing, the art, the performing, the venues- all of it, and I want to share all of that excitement with you.

All the sounds big and small. Can’t wait.
